What is Juvederm?

If you are considering esthetic procedures, then you have probably heard of Juvederm. But what is it, exactly? And what can it do for you?

We will discuss the basics of Juvederm and what to expect from treatment with this dermal filler.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a type of dermal filler that can be used to smooth away wrinkles, plump lips, and improve the overall appearance of your skin.

Juvederm is made from a substance called hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body. This makes Juvederm an ideal choice for people who are looking for a safe and effective way to improve their appearance.

When injected into the skin, Juvederm helps to replenish lost volume and give the skin a more youthful appearance.

Juvederm can also be used to plump up lips that have become thinner or lost definition over time. In addition, it can be used to fill in facial creases and wrinkles.

Juvederm is typically injected into the mid-face area, around the eyes, or into the lips. The results of Juvederm injections can last for up to one year.

How long does the Juvederm injection process take?

Juvederm injections can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of syringes used and the areas being treated.

Once the injections are complete, you will be able to see an immediate improvement in your appearance.

What are the possible side effects of Juvederm?

Although Juvederm is considered safe, there are some possible side effects, including redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site.

In rare cases, side effects may also include itching, headache, and nausea.

If you experience any of these side effects, please contact your doctor or seek medical attention immediately.

Juvederm is a convenient and relatively safe way to achieve a more youthful appearance.

With minimal risks and side effects, it is an option worth considering if you are looking for a way to reduce the signs of aging.

Frequently Asked Questions

The average cost of one syringe of Juvederm is $550

How many syringes will I need?

All patients have different needs.  Your injector can help you determine how many syringes of the filler you need.  We offer a FREE consultation for patients interested in filler.

Do the injections hurt?

Juvederm injections can be uncomfortable. We use a form of the injectable that has an anesthetic to help make them less uncomfortable.  A small ice pack can also be applied during and after treatment to help with swelling and discomfort.

Is there any downtime after a Juvederm treatment?

Juvederm treatments usually take less than an hour to complete, and there is no downtime required afterwards. In most cases, patients can expect to see results within a few days. While results do vary from patient to patient, Juvedermâ is typically considered to be a long-lasting dermal filler. With proper care, results can last for up to one year. For best results, it is recommended that patients receive touch-up treatments every few months.

Is Juvederm better than Botox?

Botox and Juvederm work in very different ways and are intended for different purposes. However, Juvederm is a popular alternative to Botox, as it offers similar benefits but with a more natural-looking and immediate result.

Who should not get fillers?

People with certain medical conditions, such as bleeding disorders or infections, should not receive fillers. In addition, pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid Juvederm injections.

When should I get Juvederm?

If you are considering Juvederm or any dermal filler before a special event such as a wedding, you should plan on having your injections done at least 2 weeks in advance of the special event.  This will allow time for any bruising or swelling to fade.
